WHAT IS IT?

A weak, fragile hair, lacking volume and shine, and prone to falling, is a hair that needs special attention and the best care. Your hair needs attention in cases of Progressive or Occasional Loss when, on average, more than 100-150 strands fall out per day. Find out which factors cause hair loss:

PROGRESSIVE LOSS

Progressive hair loss is often associated with hormonal causes, genetic patterns or even old age. These factors increase the number of hair cycles, leading to a localized loss of density and a thin and fragile follicle, especially in the frontal and top areas of the head.

OCCASIONAL LOSS

Seasonality, stress, fatigue, unbalanced diet, postpartum periods, physical trauma and some medications can be factors that facilitate occasional loss. This is in general characterized by a 30-50% decrease in hair volume, caused by an early transition of the follicles to the fall phase. It is a scattered, not localized loss.

OTHER FACTORS

Dry or oily dandruff, a very oily or sensitized scalp are situations that can coexist with hair loss or even be at its origin. Addressing the causes can make a difference in reducing hair loss.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We leave here a set of care tips for fall-prone hair, so that you can have balanced and protected hair and scalp, in all phases of your hair cycle.

1. Choose a shampoo or shampoos suited both for your hair type and hair loss tendency, as this is the key to healthy hair and scalp. Avoid very hot water when washing your hair, as this can cause the hair shaft to become dehydrated and fragile. You should wash your hair with warm water and then finish rinsing with cold water, to close the hair cuticle layer.

2. Gently detangle your hair, with the help of combing serums, foams or creams, preferably with a wide-toothed comb. Start by detangling the ends and work your way up gradually, in order to reduce the tension in the strands and minimise the risk of breakage.

3. Use an appropriate sunscreen whenever your hair is exposed to intense sun, in order to keep the cuticle layer closed, thus taking care of your hair colour and avoiding weak and brittle hair.
